An Overview of the Philathea Bible Class

(The class with the interesting name!)

The name of our class, which means “Lovers of Truth”, was chosen by the members several years ago when the women’s class (The Myra Morton Class) and the men’s class (The Berean Class) chose to begin meeting together.

The class meets on Sundays from 9:00-10:00 in the Meeting Room of Penney Memorial Church’s McCormick Hall. The class is televised on the campus channel 21.

We begin with a short opening and prayer time, then we study the Bible lesson, using the Bible in Life curriculum, with a member of the class teaching.

We prayerfully and financially support four Christian benevolences: Open Doors which ministers to persecuted Christians; Samaritan’s Purse which has their shoe box ministry; Shepherd’s College which prepares developmentally-challenged young adults to live independently, and The Mailbox Club which supplies Bible lessons for children around the world.

Our friendly, close-knit class has a warm fellowship and enjoys studying and applying the Word together.
